As October rolls in, Bates Mission is gearing up for a fun-filled month to celebrate the re-launch of Bates Pantry! To add some extra flair to our festivities, we’d like to introduce you to our newest volunteers, the Skullywood Family! These charming characters will be hanging out in front of our office all month, and they’re guaranteed to be having fun! 🕺💀👻
Hughmerus is the trusty patriarch, always ready with a dad joke and a helping hand. Scarah, the mom, will be lending her creativity to our project, designing the weekly themes and ensuring everyone has a great time. Doug-up is the adventurous teen, eager to explore new ideas and connect with the community, while little BonnieBoo adds a touch of magic and joy, lighting up every event with her bright smile. Together, they’re here to create buzz and build anticipation for Bates Pantry!
Why a skeleton family, you ask? Just like the young adults striving to build strong foundations for their futures, Bonesy and his family symbolize resilience, support, and the fun side of overcoming challenges. They’re here to remind us that even in the spookiest times, there’s always room for kindness, community, and a little bit of silliness.
Bates Pantry isn’t just a bakery and resale shop—it’s a gateway to stable employment and financial independence for the incredible young adults we support. By selling delicious baked items and other goodies, Bates Pantry will help fund our mission and create meaningful job opportunities in areas like photography, shipping, customer relations, and inventory management. Plus, a portion of every sale goes directly back to Bates Mission, helping us continue our vital work. 🍪💙
